ABOUT ALAN MCCALLUM

Brief Racing Bio: Alan began his racing career with indoor karting, quickly making the transition to Rotax Competition at the age of twelve.  Capturing the Houston Regional Rotax Championship in 2007 took him to the Rotax Grand Nationals in Denver, CO, the week before beginning his freshman year at Arizona State University.  With a long-term goal of becoming a winning professional both on and off the racetrack, Alan attended several training courses at the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, located in Chandler, AZ.  In October 2009 Alan drove in his first auto race when he participated in the second weekend of the Inaugural Bondurant Championship Race Series.  By December he was making his first podium appearance in the series, placing second.  In January 2010, Alan climbed to the top of the podium for a first place trophy and his first win in auto racing.  By the time the nine-month series came to an end, Alan was within 50 points of the lead, completing the series with a very respectable third place finish, considering the caliber of the competition.

Alan has since graduated to Formula Mazda competitions, competing in events organized by the SCCA and NASA sanctioning bodies.  He followed up on his Bondurant series success with three first-place finishes at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA.  Two of these wins were at the high profile IZOD INDYCAR Grand Prix of Sonoma.  That September Alan captured the 2010 NASA National Championship title at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, UT, and in 2011 placed 3rd in the SCCA National Runoffs at Road America. In addition to his racing success, Alan graduated from Arizona State University in December, 2011, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Design Management.  His studies have afforded him with an abundance of valuable knowledge and creative insight into many of the effective practices of today’s tough business world.  Human relations, communications, and team-building skills that are useful in all forms of business, as well as unique, culturally diverse experiences from studying abroad in Italy, characterize Alan with tools and skills that are very desirable in a young up-and-coming racecar driver.
